Read the invite, and make sure you know the dress code! If it says smart casual, it means “dress up and look stylish”, more than your usual day-to-day but maybe not too much sparkle or a gown. You don’t want to be too underdressed, so maybe ask your friends or colleagues what they’ll be wearing.

Experiment with your wardrobe
Mix it up. If you always wear a suit or shirt and trousers, maybe try a jumpsuit or playsuit. If you are a dress kind of girl, try a suit. It’s the most fun time to experiment and play around with your style, so make the most of it!
Make sure you are comfortable. Just because it’s Christmas doesn’t mean you have to be head-to-toe in sequins. But, I would say this is your chance to experiment and have a bit more fun with your outfit. If you always wear black maybe experiment with a silver or navy or even a dark red. You can wear black leather with an interesting top. Go for a nice plunge neckline with sleeves to cover up if you want to try something different but subtle at the same time. If you really only wear black, you can go simple and classic but add some drama with your accessories.
Enjoy what you’re wearing
When it comes to women’s partywear, it’s important to enjoy what you are wearing. Christmas parties are the most fun time of the year so make sure your outfit matches. It may be your first big night out. Make it count and ensure you’re wearing the correct underwear with your outfit (after all underwear is like the foundation in your makeup kit).
