IS IT SAFE TO MAINTAIN DIET TO LOSE WEIGHT DURING PREGNANCY?

Is it safe to maintain diet to lose weight during pregnancy?In general, mothers have to increase their weight at least 10 to 15 kg during their pregnancy, so this is not a good idea to doing diet during pregnancy. You may need to increase your weight at least 5 to 10 kg though your weight is comparatively heavy. 

Some weight gain is unavoidable given the weight of the baby, the enlarged uterus, the placenta, and the amniotic fluid. But that’s the weight that will disappear quickly once the baby is born. You should take at least 2500 calories a day for you and as well as your baby.

During the pregnancy some changes could happen to your blood sugar, your blood sugar between meals can fall to very low levels and you could feel starving and need to eat between meals.

Babies are quite proficient at getting what they need, So if you don’t take enough food then it’s more a threat to your health than your baby’s. Moreover, there is a risk that your baby will grow poorly if you are malnourished.

If you really want to lose weight then we recommend you to do that one or two years before you want to get pregnant. And instead of losing weight during pregnancy, you can develop the healthy eating habits that will carry you through the rest of your life.

Focus on eating healthy rather than reducing calories. In the end, it’s good for you and your baby, and it will also help you to make sure you don’t gain more weight than you need to during your pregnancy.
