I’ve been slowly introducing NC to some different task-based activities. One of the reasons is to stop her just putting toys in her mouth and getting her to interact with toys in different ways. The latest one that I have been doing is ball and tape activity.
Make sure you follow my activities for babies board on Pinterest for more ideas. Don’t forget to save the pin for later.
To make your own ball and tape activity you will need:
*I used ball pit balls. They are a decent size to grasp with some give in them which makes them slightly easier for babies to pick up. They are also light, which means you don’t have to use as much tape.
Tape the balls to a vertical surface; I have used her cupboard doors and her cot. Try taping them at slightly different heights.
Then let your little one grab them off the wall.
This was an activity that NC would do for a bit and then get distract by something else, crawl off, then come back to when she noticed it again. The tape does slightly confuse her at the moment. It is rather funny to watch her try to figure out why it keeps sticking to her.
I did also put out a small little basket for the balls to go in, but it didn’t work out for that, she of course liked putting it in her mouth.
If you enjoyed doing this ball and tape activity, be sure to check out my pipe cleaner and colander activity, and nursery rhyme puppets.
